This is a great example of why our increasingly draconian sex offender laws genuinely scare me.

I am living it. I get fired by a red colored soda company, for doing something with manager approval, that others were doing, but they only get suspended. Also chew on the fact that I had a union representing me. Since then I have been working jobs that pay 1/2 or less then that one.

I have a laptop provided to me by my school district. It, however, is an iBook G4 which I know everything about. Most of the time it just sits shut down in its case. I use my MacBook Pro for everything.

I dread the idea that some day, via some convoluted set of circumstances, I will inadvertently click on a link or something similar that will put me on the sex police’s radar, and then my life will be ruined, like this guy’s. I honestly don’t know if I could handle the emotional wreck of being accused of a crime of which I am innocent and of which my name will never been cleared.

This is why i grind my teeth to nubs every time I see Oprah, or some advice columnist fearmonger about TEH DAYNGURS OF TEH INTARTUBES!!!1111
They create an aura of fear around it, so when it happens, people freak and assume you’re some kind of degenerate.
Shit, I KNOW what I’m doing, and I still regularly check for malware. Yes, even on a Mac. Care to guess how many instances of php-based malware i’ve found on my site over the years? Quite a few, and that’s on freebsd.
It’s just a tool, not satan.
