You may have noticed that the site reacts a little quicker today, and that it was down for a while last night. That’s because it is now hosted by an Xserve!
It’s not exactly a new XServe, but it’s one hell of an improvement from what was there before. And there’s a new firewall at the head of the subnet, so I’m sure that helps too.

Aaron: The site definately is snappier! Search is almost instantanious (certainly faster than on my PowerBook with Spotlight). I keep thinking of colo-ing a Mac mini with Chuck so that my site is a touch faster, but it’s just a stupid cat-blog. Although, Dreamhost hasn’t even copped to being hacked yet, and my shared servers are glacial. I just love all that storage space though…
Anyways, I enjoy your blog. Enjoy the new server.

Does this mean that the next time you appear on YML or Trash Talk (both of which you really need to do more often) that you will stop telling people not to go here?

Obi, I wish Shawn and I could do Trash Talk and YML more often! I need to rig something up with him. My new line for the web site will be, “Go there right now, no matter what you have to do!” Or something along those lines.
