I know what you saw last night

That big “star” you saw next to the moon last night was the planet Venus. Both bodies happened to be along the same line of sight. I snapped a quick photo for you.

It was nice. I only observed it with my naked eyes, as it is still quite cold here at night… not to mention it not getting dark until quite late.

Thanks Shawn. J Curtis sent that to me also, and it was the Astronomy Picture of the Day yesterday.

Here’s an interesting similar shot taken about a dozen years ago, also from Boston. It was taken with the same scope I have.

I would like to contact you with regards to using this image, but the “contact me” link on the right doesn’t seem to go anywhere…. Could you drop me a line about it? My email address is on my website.

    Thanks!
    Emma
