Guess who sat down next to me tonight at Outback steak house. Clark freakin’ Howard. Wow! We talked for a few minutes about the Mac and how I built the cheapest kitchen remodel he’d ever heard of. He was super nice and didn’t mind talking.

Who the hell is Clark freakin’ Howard?

Clark Howard hosts a nationally syndicated radio show about money management and personal finance. He has written several books, he’s hosted a number of specials on one of the Discovery channels, and he has a television show that’s somehow available to digital cable subscribers. The company that distributes his show owns an affiliate here and he came to town yesterday to promote his book. It turns out we happened to have dinner at the same restaurant, and the waitress sat him and whoever was with him next to us.

Shawn, I hate to break this to you, but… You aren’t the only marginally famous radio host in Aaron’s life now.

I dunno, I’d say Clark is at least on the same fame plane as David Pogue, and probably a little higher. He’s just famous in a different circle.
