OmniWeb: Worth $10

Apple, Mac OS X 3 Comments »

I just wanted to make a quick post to put in a good word for OmniWeb. I’ve been a Safari user since its release, and I still like it. I used OmniWeb long ago (pre-Safari), and at the time I wasn’t thrilled with it because it used its own rendering engine which wasn’t great (it now uses WebKit, like Safari) and it was slow. That’s all in the past now, and both of those shortcomings have been resolved. OmniWeb is now more like a deluxe or professional version of Safari, with all kinds of customization options more advanced browser users may find useful. In the recent past, I shied away from OmniWeb because of its $30 price tag. I was happy enough with Safari that $30 for another browser wasn’t worth it to me. However, through the end of November, OmniWeb is on sale for about $10, so I bought a license. I’m happy I did, and I’d recommend checking out a demo copy of it and deciding whether to purchase a license before the end of the month.
