The liberal nanny state would like you to know that, again this Memorial Day weekend (which, according to them, is a week long now), the Ohio Highway Patrol will be vigorously pursuing drivers who commit victimless crimes, such as not wearing a seat belt. (There is not a mandatory helmet law for motorcyclists, but you better buckle up!) And if you even think about alcohol while you’re driving, you will be compelled to give evidence against yourself, have your property taken without due process, and be slammed into the clink. Meanwhile, the usual Highway Patrol policies of ignoring drivers who obviously need roadside assistance and mismanaging traffic around accidents they (eventually) respond to will proceed as usual.
