This month’s special quote

I ran across this quote somewhere on the web today and I thought it was so good I had to share it.

“On two occasions, I have been asked [by members of Parliament], ‘Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?’ I am not able to rightly apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.”

– Charles Babbage (1791-1871)

For those who are unaware, Charles Babbage is commonly considered the “Father of Computing” for his invention of the Analytical Engine, forerunner to today’s computers. It’s unsettling to see that some users haven’t gotten any smarter in almost 200 years.
